if the sum and differences of 2 number is35 and 7repectively ,find them

let two number be x and y

given that

x + y = 35     ------------eq 1

x - y  = 7       ------------eq 2

adding  eq 1 and eq 2

x + y + x - y = 35 +7

⇒ 2x = 42

⇒ x = 42/2 = 21

substituting value of x in eq 1

⇒21 + y = 35

⇒ y = 35 - 21 = 14

so two numbers are 21 and 14
