Step-by-step explanation:

 \alpha + \beta = - 5 + ( - 7) = - 5 - 7 = - 12

 \alpha \times \beta = ( - 5) \times ( - 7) = 35

 {x}^{2} - (sum \: of \: the \: roots)x + product \: of \: the \: roots = 0

   {x}^{2} - ( - 12) x+ 35 = 0

 {x}^{2} + 12x + 35 = 0
