let them x and y
x+y=8
XY=15
x=15/y
15/y +y=8
15+y^2 / y=8
15+y^2 =8y
y^2-8y+15=0
y^2 -5y-3y+15=0
y(y-5) -3(y-5)=0
y=3 , y=5
x=5, x=3
