Let the age of son be y

let the age of father be x

x+y=65

and twice the difference of their age is 50 yrs

2(x+y)=50

2x+2y=50

x+y=65......1

2x-2y=50.......2

by elemination method adding 1 and 2

2(x+y=65)+2x-2y=50

therefore,

2x+2y=130

2x-2y=50

4x+0=180

x=180÷4

x=45

x+45=65

Therefore, 20 is son sage and 45 is father age.
