Answer:

Let three consecutive even numbers are x,x+2 and x+4

And the sum of that three consecutive numbers is 234

x+x+2+x+4=234

3x+6=234

3x=234-6

3x=228

x=76

Therefore,the three consecutive numbers are 76,78 and 80

The smallest number among them is 76

  1. Let the 3 consecutive Even numbers be:
  • 2x - 2 \longrightarrow Smallest number
  • 2x
  • 2x + 2

   2. Their Sum:

(2x - 2) + 2x + (2x + 2) = 234

⇒ 2x - 2 + 2x + 2x + 2 = 234

⇒ 2x + 2x + 2x = 234

⇒ 6x = 234

x = 39

Smallest number = 2x - 2 ⇒ 2 × 39 - 2 ⇒ 78 - 2 = 76.

Smallest number = 76.

The 3 consecutive Even numbers are 76, 78 and 80

Additional Information:

  1. Even Numbers are numbers that are divisible by 2.
  2. Consecutive numbers are numbers that come one after the other in ascending order.
