Answer:

Let the smallest odd integer of the three be x

→ Hence the next 2 consecutive odd integers are x+2andx+4

→ x+(x+2)+(x+4)=27

→ 3x + 6 = 27

→ 3x = 27-6

→ 3x = 21

→ x = 21/3

→ x = 7

→ x + 2 => 7+2 → 9

x + 4 => 7+4 11

hope it helps you

Given :

  • Sum of three consecutive number = 27

To find :

  • The second number

According to the question,

Let,

  • The first number = x
  • The second number = x + 1
  • The third number = x + 2

Now,

➟ x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 27

➟ 3x + 3 = 27

➟ 3x = 27 - 3

➟ 3x = 24

➟ x = 24 ÷ 3

➟ x = 8

So,

  • The first number = 8
  • The second number = x + 1 = 8 + 1 9
  • The third number = x + 2 = 8 + 2 = 10

Therefore,the second number is 9.
