let the two no. be x and y
if x+y=8/9-----(1)
and x-y=2/9------(2)
now add (1) &(2)
x+y=8/9
x-y=2/9
----------
2x =8/9-2/9
2x=6/9
2x=2/3
x=1/3
therefore substitute x=1/3 in (1)
x+y=8/9
1/3+y=8/9
y=8/9-1/3
y=5/9
therefore the two fractions are 1/3&5/9
if x+y=8/9-----(1)
and x-y=2/9------(2)
now add (1) &(2)
x+y=8/9
x-y=2/9
----------
2x =8/9-2/9
2x=6/9
2x=2/3
x=1/3
therefore substitute x=1/3 in (1)
