If the sum of two numbers is 14 and their difference is 10. find the product of this two numbers.

Let the nos be x and y such that x>y.  Eq 1- x+y = 14 Eq 2- x-y = 10 Adding eq1 and eq 2: x+x+y - y = 10 +14 2x = 24  x= 12 Putting x= 12 in eq 1- 12 +y = 14       y = 14 - 12 y = 2  Now product of nos = x ☓ y   Product of nos = 12 ☓ 2   Product of nos = 24  Hence 24 is the answer.
