Let the two numbers be 'a' and 'b' .

given , a + b  = 41 ; ______(1)

also ,  a × b = 400 ;  ______(2)

         from (1) & (2)

       (41 - b ) × b = 400

⇒      b² - 41 b + 400 = 0

⇒     b² -16 b - 25 b + 400 = 0

⇒     b( b - 16 ) -25 ( b - 16 ) = 0

⇒      ( b - 16 ) ( b - 25 ) = 0

           ∴  b = 16 or 25

when b = 16 (from equation (1) ) , a = 25;

and when b = 25 then a = 16.

∴ The two numbers are 16 , 25.

Hope this helps you✌️✌️☘️☘️.
