Question:

  • If the surface area of a Sphere is 154m² find its volume.

Solution:

Need to find:

  • Volume of sphere = ?

Given that;

  • Surface area of a sphere = 154m²

Step by step explanation:

As we know that,

  • Surface area of sphere = 4πr²

Let the radius of sphere be r,

Putting the known values,

➤ 154 = 4 × 22/7 × r²

➤ 154 = 88/7 × r²

➤ 154 = 12.57 × r²

➤ r² = 154/12.57

➤ r² = 12.25

➤ r = √12.25

r = 3.5 cm

  • Therefore,The value of r is 3.5 cm.

Let us find the volume of sphere,

We know that, Volume of sphere = 4/3 × πr³

Applying the values,

》Volume of sphere = 4/3 × 22/7 × (3.5)³

》Volume of sphere = 88/21 × 42.875

》Volume of sphere = 4.19 × 42.875

Volume of sphere = 179.64 cm³

  • Hence,The volume of a sphere is 179.64cm³

We know surface area of shphere = 4πr²

now to find the volume we need to find the radius

and we know the value of (π) that is 22/7

so now, finding the value of radius (r)

154= 4×22/7 × r²

154= 88/7× r²

154= 12.57 × r²

r² = 154/12.57

r²= 12.25

r= 12.25

r= 3.5

therefore, r = 3.5

now since we know the radius we'll find the volume

now finding the volume,

volume of sphere= 4/3×πr²

4/3×22/7×(3.5)³

88/21×42.875

4.19.42.875

179.64cm²

therefore the volume of the sphere is 179.64cm²
