If three cubes are joined there will be an increase in length, so height and breadth will be √3 ( by finding a).

So,L=3√3,b=h=√3. T.S.A of cuboid =2×(lb+bh+hl). 2×(3√3+√3×√3+√3×√3)= 20.232 sq cm if simplyfiy it

The surface area of the cuboid made of 3 such cubes is 40.46 sq.cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Surface area of cube = 6a^2

Where a is the side of cube

We are given that the surface area of the cube is 18 sq. cm

So, 6a^2  = 18

a=\sqrt[2]{\frac{18}{6}}

a=1.7 cm

Cuboid is made of 3 such cubes

Length of cuboid = 1.7+1.7+1.7 = 5.1 cm

Breadth of cuboid = 1.7 cm

Height of cuboid = 1.7 cm

Total surface area of cuboid =2(lb+bh+hl)=2(5.1 \times 1.7+1.7 \times 1.7+ 1.7 \times 5.1)=40.46 cm^2

Hence the surface area of the cuboid made of 3 such cubes is 40.46 sq.cm.
