Solution:

Let say side of cube = a   unit

Volume of cube = a³  cubic units

Total surface area of cube = 6a²  sq units

a³ = 6a²

=> a = 6

lateral surface area of the cube  = 4a²

=>  lateral surface area of the cube  = 4(6)² sq units

=>  lateral surface area of the cube  = 144 sq units
