Answer:

We get n=360/90 -1=3. When we simply use n=360/90 =4 we get an even number, but we should get an odd integer so we use other formula. So we get 3 images when the two mirrors are placed at 90 degree

Solution:

Given , two mirrors are inclined at an angle 90°

Need to find , number of images formed

Using , the formula

n = ( 360°/θ ) - 1

Where

  • n : no. of images
  • θ : angle inclined at

Substituting the known values we have

=⟩ n = ( 360°/90° ) - 1

=⟩ n = 4 - 1

=⟩ n = 3

Hence , number of images formed = 3
