If the velocity if the body is double then kinectic enegry is increased by how many times

aniketsingh442: Kinetic energy of a body of given mass, is directly proportiional to its square of its velocity. When momentum is doubled, mass remaining constant, this means velcity is doubled. Hence, kinetic energybecomes 22=4 times i.e. say from 100 units to 400 units. and percentageincrease in kinetic energy is 400−100=300%

hey here is the correct answer

If the momentum of an object is doubled, but its mass does not increase (so velocityremains well below the speed of light), then its velocity isdoubled. If the velocity isdoubled then the kinetic energy increases by the square of 2, or four time. Hence kinetic energy of thebody will be 4 times to itseirlier value.
hope this helps you dear ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

Let kinetic energies be KE1 and KE2 when velocities are v and 2v respectively.

kinetic \: energy =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}

By using this formula-

KE1 =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}
KE2 =  \frac{1}{2} m {(2v)}^{2}  \\  =  \frac{1}{2} m \: 4 {v}^{2}  \\   = (4)( \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2} ) \\ KE2 = 4KE1
Hope it will help you.
