Velocity-displacement of a particle is related as -

v²= a - bx²

Differentiating w.r.t. x,

2v × dv/dx = 0 - 2bx

2 × dx/dt × dv/dx = -2bx

dv/dt = -bx

a = -bx

a ∝ x

Therefore, acceleration of particle proportional to displacement of the particle.
