Answer:

c) 70°

we know that in an isosceles triangle , the base angles are equal

so,

each angle = x° ( let)

Given that the vertical angle is 40 °

as we know

sum of all Angles of a ∆ = 180°

=> 40 + x + x = 180

=> 2x = 180 -40

=> x = 140/2

=> x = 70°.

so, the correct answer is 70°......

The other two angles will be 70° , 70°

Correct question : the vertical angle of an isosceles triangle is 40° then measure of other two angles will be (a) 60° , 60° (b) 70° , 70° (c) 50° , 50° (d) 75° , 75°

Given :

The vertical angle of an isosceles triangle is 40°

To find :

The measure of other two angles will be

(a) 60° , 60°

(b) 70° , 70°

(c) 50° , 50°

(d) 75° , 75°

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Form the equation to find measure of other two angles

We know that in an isosceles triangle , the base angles are equal

Let the base angles are x and x

Again sum of three angles in a triangle is 180°

∴ x + x + 40° = 180°

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the measure of other two angles

x + x + 40° = 180°

⇒ 2x + 40° = 180°

⇒ 2x = 180° - 40°

⇒ 2x = 140°

⇒ x = 140°/2

⇒ x = 70°

So the measure of other two angles are 70° , 70°

Hence the correct option is (b) 70° , 70°
