If the width of a rectangle is 2 metre less than its length and its perimeter is 32 metre then the area of the rectangle is __

Given,

length of rectangle = x

width of rectangle. = X -2

perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( x + x -2 )

32/2. = 2x - 2

16 +2 = 2x

18 /2 = x

9. = x

Therefore, length = 9 , width = 7

Area of rectangle = l×b

= 9× 7

Therefore area of rectangle = 63cm..
