Answer:-
Given polynomial = x² + (a + 1)x + b = 0
let the zeroes be "p" and "q" (p = 2 & q = -3),
And , a = 1 ; b = a + 1 ; c = b
We know that,
Sum of zeroes (p + q) = - b/a
p + q = -(a + 1)/1
p + q = - a - 1
Substitute values of p & q here,
2 + (-3) = - a - 1
2 - 3 = - a - 1
- 1 + 1 = - a
a = 0
We know that, product of the roots pq = c/a
pq = b/1
(2)(- 3) = b
b = - 6.
Hence, the value of a is 0 and b is -6.
