3 and 4 are zeros of polynomial so after putting x=3 and x=4 polynomial would become equal to 0 .
So
first put x=3, 3*3 - a *3 + b=0
=> 3a - b -9 =0. .... (1)

and after putting x =4
4*4 - a * 4 +b = 0
=> 4a -b -16 =0. ....(2)

solving these equations -->
sustract eqn (2) from equation (1)
=>
-a +7 =0
= > a = 7

and put a = 7 in eqn (1)

=> 3* (7) -b -9 =0
=> b = 12.
