If there are 6 apples and you take away 4, how many apples do you have to start with?

This is an attempt to confuse people via ambiguous phrasing. “You take away 4” can of course be interpreted to mean that you now have 4 apples, or that “you” now possess 6 - 4 = 2. And, if you originally owned all six apples and “take away” means putting some elsewhere (but they’re still yours), you still “have” 6 apples.
