This is because the space is inconceivably enormous, so the heat of stars dissipates to nearly absolute zero between them.

=> Space is beyond our imagination I mean it is such a vast that even the light of billions - and- billions of stars can't lit it (space) up.
The Space is always dark because there is no atmosphere in the outer space to scatter the sunlight.
