Answer:

x = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

In an A.P. difference is always same between any two consecutive terms.

three consecutive terms of an AP are x+4, 2x+8 and 12.

So,

                                         difference d = a_{2} - a_{1} = a_{3} - a_{2}

                                     (2x + 8) - (x + 4) = 12 - (2x + 8)

                                            2x + 8 - x - 4 = 12 -2x - 8

                                            x + 4 =  -2x + 4

                                           x + 2x = 4 - 4

                                             3x = 0

                                               x = \frac{0}{3}

                             x= 0
