Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If a is side of ΔABC

then LET AD be altitude.

Now BD=CD=a/2

In   ΔABD, using pythagorus theorem,

AB²=BD²+AD²

a²=(a/2)²+AD²

a²-a²/4=AD²

(3/4)a²=AD²

(√3/2)a=AD
