PE of a particle in SHM
is

Pe=1/2kx^2

Here x is A/2

Therefore

Pe=1/2kA^2/4

That is 1/8KA^2

Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

P.E. = E/4

● Explanation -

Total energy of the particle in SHM is -

T.E. = 1/2 kA^2

Potential energy of the particle at half amplitude in SHM is -

P.E. = 1/2 kx^2

P.E. = 1/2 k×(A/2)^2

P.E. = 1/8 kA^2

P.E. = 1/4 × (1/2 kA^2)

P.E. = E/4

Hence, the potential energy of the particle at half the amplitude will be E/4.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
