∆ABC ~ ∆PQR

According to theorem of areas of similar triangle , "The ratio of the areas of the similar triangles is equal to the square of their corresponding sides".

so,

Area of ∆ABC / Area of ∆PQR = (AB)^2/ (PQ)^2

=(3)^2/(4)^2

= 9/16
