Answer:

Let the father's age be x

Let the son's age be y

So, first : x+2y=70yrs. ------------1st eq

Second; 2x+y=95yrs ------------2nd eq

From 1st eq: x=70-2y

Putting it in 2nd eq;

2(70-2y)+y=95

140-4y+y=95

-3y=95-140

-3y= -45

Y= -45/-3

Y=15 yrs

Putting it in 1st eq;

X+2(15)=70

X+30=70

X=70-30

X=40yrs

So father's age is x , that is 40 years
