Given - Ratio of force = 5:7

Ratio of area = 4:5

Find - Ratio of pressure exerted

Solution - The pressure, force and area are related to each other by the formula :

Pressure = Force/Area.

Now, taking the ratio of pressure 1 and pressure 2.

So, the formula will be -

 \frac{pressure \: 1}{pressure \: 2}  \:  =  \:  \frac{force \: 1 \times area \: 2}{force \: 2 \times area \: 1}

Now keeping the values in formula to find the ratio of pressure exerted.

 \frac{pressure \: 1}{pressure \: 2 }  =  \frac{5 \times 5}{7 \times 4}

 \frac{pressure \: 1}{pressure \: 2 }  =   \frac{25}{28}

Thus, the ratio of pressure exerted is 25:28.
