If two interior angles on the same side of a transversal intersecting two parallel lines are in the ratio 2:3 , then find the greater angle.

The two interior angles of the same side of the transversal sum to 180°

Thus , let x be the common multiple for both the angles ie 2x and 3x

Hence, 2x+3x=180°

5x=180°

x=180/5

x= 36°

The greater angle is 3x

and its measure is 3× 36°

= 108°

The smallest angle is 2x= 2×36

=72°
