Since both the given sides are perpendicular, therefore the height and base of the triangle is known i.e., height = 4cm & base = 10cm or vice-versa.

Area

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times base \times height \\  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 10 \times 4 \\  = 10 \times 2 = 20

Hence, area off the given right-angled triangle is 20cm².
