Two numbers are co-prime if their highest common factor (or greatest common divisor) is 1. Examples -

4 and 15

45 and 4

678 and 679

As we can see from the above examples, where both numbers are composite,  if two numbers are co-primes, it is not important that at least one of them must be prime.

∴This statement is false.
