HEMISPHERE:
A plane passing through the centre, cuts the sphere in two equal parts each parts, each part is  called a hemisphere.

SPHERE:
A sphere is a solid generated by the revolution of a semicircle about its diameter.

SOLUTION:
When two solid hemispheres of same base radius 'r' are joined along their baseit forms a sphere.
Surface area of Sphere= 4πr²

Hence, the total surface area of new solid (SPHERE) is 4πr².
