The process of Digestion

Explanation:

  • The  process of digestion begins in the mouth. As we take the  meal in the mouth the process of chewing begins which is moistened by the help of saliva. The enzyme amylase present in the saliva breaks down the carbohydrates.
  • After this process the food begins to move down the throat(pharynx). The epiglottis closes to prevent the food from entering the food pipe.
  • It reaches esophagus where the valve sphincter allows the food to enter into the stomach. The stomach further breaks down the food by the action of digestive juices which involves the action of acids and enzymes.
  • The food turns into chyme and did not leave the stomach until the consistency is acceptable by the small intestine.
  • The small intestine is made up of three parts .The first part is duodenum which is a c-shaped ,then comes the jejunum which is coiled and the last part is known as the ileum which is the junction for large intestine.
  • The inner wall of the small intestine consists of a number of projections known as villi which has a number of blood vessels. These villi absorbs nutrients.
  • The food moves down the large intestine where solid waste is removed and is later excreted. The large intestine consists of three parts .The first part consists of cecum also known as the appendix which functioned in our ancestors and is no more used now. Then comes the colon which absorbs fluids and salts. The final part consists of rectum which stores feces until it is removed.

Soyabean consists mainly of protein and some amounts of carbohydrates and fats.

Wheat consist mainly of carbohydrates and protein ,fats and minerals in some amount.
