if upper part painted with black colour , then what happens ???
first of all we have to know ,
what does black painted surface ??
black painted surface absorb all light when light stike with it . so , it means no reflection in this surface . but we know , in mirror quality of image depend upon reflection of light . but here reflection doesn't possible ( rarely possible)
so, quality of image decreases .

Answer:
If it is a plane mirror, then the part of the object that is reflective of the part of the mirror which is not covered with the black strip will be seen as a reflected image.
However, if it is a concave or a convex mirror, then there will not be any change in the real image of the object and the lens will be able to produce a complete image of the object.
However, the brightness or the intensity of the image will be quite reduced. This is because a few rays that are forming the object's image will be hindered due to the presence of a barrier in the name of the black strip. Therefore, there will be a minimization of the intensity of the image formed.
