if voltage across the given resistor is doubled then what will be changed in power consumption of a resistor?how?

Here is the answer.

As, P = V^2 / R
So, if voltage is doubled then V'=2V

P' = (2V)^2 / R = 4V^2/R = 4P

Hence power consumption will be four times .
