Question
If we add 5 to denominators and subtract 5 from numerator fraction reduces to 1\7 if we subtract 3 from numerator and add 3 to denominator it reduces to 1\3 ?
Solution
GiVeN :-
- If we add 5 to denominators and subtract 5 from numerator fraction reduces to 1\7
- we subtract 3 from numerator and add 3 to denominator it reduces to 1\3 ?

Explanation
Let,
- Numerator be = x
- Denominator be = y
A/C to question,
(If we add 5 to denominators and subtract 5 from numerator fraction reduces to 1\7)
==> (x-5)/(y+5) = 1/7
==> 7 * (x-5) = (y+5)
==> 7x - y = 5 + 35
==> 7x - y = 40 ------------Equ(1)
Again,
(we subtract 3 from numerator and add 3 to denominator it reduces to 1\3 ?)
==> (x-3)/(y+3) = 1/3
==> 3 * (x-3) = y + 3
==> 3x - y = 3 + 9
==> 3x - y = 12 ---------------Equ(2)
Subtract Equ(1) & Equ(2)
==> 7x - 3x = 40 - 12
==> 4x = 28
==> x = 28/4
==>x = 7
Keep Value in equ(1)
==> 7 * 7 - y = 40
==> y = -40 + 49
==> y = 9
Hence
- Value of x = 7
- Value of y = 9
[ Ans].
