let numerator be x
denominator be y
fraction=x/y
acc to que
5-x/5+y= 1/7
35-7x = 5+y
-7x-y=-30..... eq 1
and
3+x/ 3+y=1/3
9+3x = 3+y
3x-y =-6..... eq 2
now u can solve it

Answer:

Fraction Formed = 7/9

Step-by-step explanation:

Let  the  numerator   be = x

Let the denominator be = y

Therefore, the fraction is = x/y

Given that,

=> (x-5)/(y+5) = 1/7

=>(7)(x-5) = (1)(y+5)

=>7x-35 = y+5

=>7x-y = 35+5

=>7x-y = 40    ----------------- (I)

=>(x-3)/(y+3) = 1/3

=>(3)(x-3) = (1)(y+3)

=>(3x-9) = (y+3)

=>3x-y = 12     -------------------(II)

Now, subtracting equation (I) from equation (II),

=>                 3x-y = 12

                  -(7x-y = 40)

                   (-4x) = (-28)

=> -4x = -28

=>   x = 7

Now, substituting this value of 'x' in equation (I),

=> 7(7)-y = 40

=> 49-y = 40

=> -y = 40-49

=> -y = -9

=> y = 9

Thus the numerator = 7

    the denominator = 9

Therefore, the fraction formed is 7/9
