Area of circle=πd²/4

new D= (20%d)+d = d/5+d=(6d/5)

New area= πD²/4= 36d²π/100

Increase in Area=(New area/Old area)×100

=(36πd²/100)÷(πd²/4) ×100

=36×4

=144%

Thus, the area of circle increases by 144% if the diameter is increased by 20%
