if we keep Ice on a glass filled with water and the ice melts then will the water level goes up, goes down or remains same and why

goes up because ice(solid) cannot stay at room temperature so it will melt and become water(liquid).

It is obvious that the level of water in the glass filled with water will rise because the as the ice will melt it will become water and hence increasing the quantity of water present in the glass.
