A black body is an ideal absorber of incident radiation. It allows the incident radiation to pass and absorb within itself without reflecting or passing any energy.
Most of the energy radiated by the black body is infrared, so it cannot be perceived by human eye. Hence black body at room temperature appears black.
At the lowest possible temperature, black body appears grey to the human eye but in reality, the frequency of light in the visible range will still be red. When the temperature becomes a little hotter, it appears dull red which eventually becomes blue-white on further increase in temperature.

The simplest and most commonly used black body was designed by Fery. It is known as the Ferry's black body which consists of a hollow double-walled sphere which is
completely blackened inside. The sphere has a small hole on its surface,
opposite to which is the wedge-shaped structure inside the sphere.
