If we sprinkle salt on cucumber slices, after sometime they release water. What mechanism is responsible for this phenomenon?

the mechanism is osmoises.

deep2212: as you know the cell have permeable wall so if the co2 gets high inside the cell it takes out the excessive co2 to balance with the atmosphere thus its called osmoises.
