x=1/(2-√3)=1/(2-√3)×(2+√3)/(2+√3)
x=2+√3
=x^3-2x^2-7x+5
=x(x^2-2x-7)+5
=(2+√3){(2+√3)^2-2(2+√3)-7}+5
=(2+√3){4+3+4√3-4-2√3-7}+5
=(2+√3){2√3-4}+5
=4√3-8+6-4√3+5
=3
Hence value of x^3-2x^2-7x+5 ,when x=1/(2-√3) = 3.
x=2+√3
=x^3-2x^2-7x+5
=x(x^2-2x-7)+5
=(2+√3){(2+√3)^2-2(2+√3)-7}+5
=(2+√3){4+3+4√3-4-2√3-7}+5
=(2+√3){2√3-4}+5
=4√3-8+6-4√3+5
=3
Hence value of x^3-2x^2-7x+5 ,when x=1/(2-√3) = 3.
