So here, first no. would be x and other would be 1/x.

Apply this property here…..

then x^2=1-2^(1/2)

now ((X^2)+1)/X=((2-2^(1/2))/(1-2^(1/2))^(1/2)

on rationalizing, we get;

x+1/x=(((2-2^(1/2))*(1+2^(1/2))^(1/2))/(1-2^(1/2))
