If x-1/3 =3 , find x^2+1/x^2

Here is your answer
x -  \frac{1}{3}  = 3 \\ x = 3 +  \frac{1}{3}  \\ x =  \frac{9 + 1}{3}  \\ x =  \frac{10}{3}  \\ and \frac{1}{x}  =  \frac{3}{10} <br />
Now

 {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  \\  = ( \frac{10}{3} ) {}^{2}  + ( \frac{3}{10} ) {}^{2}  \\  =  \frac{100}{9}  +  \frac{9}{100}  \\  =  \frac{10000 + 81}{900}  \\  =  \frac{10081}{900}
