If x+1 is a factor of p(x) = kx^2 – x – 4, find the value of k.​

g(x) = 0

x+1=0

x=-1

Putting x=-1 in eqⁿ kx²-x-4

p(x)=0

kx²-x-4=0

k(-1)²-(-1)-4=0

k+1-4=0

k-3=0

k=3

Hence the value of k = 3.
