Let p(x) = 3x⁴ - 4x³ - ax + 2

=>factor = x - 1

=> x - 1 = 0

=> x = 1

Thus p(1) = 0

=> 3(1)⁴ - 4(1)³ - a(1) + 2 = 0

=> 3 - 4 - a + 2 = 0

=> - a = - 1

=> a = 1 <<<<<<<< Answer

It is given in the question that x=1 put value of x in the polynomial

3(1)^4 - 4(1)^3 - a(1) + 2=0

3(1) - 4(1) -a + 2 =0

3-4-a+2=0

3+2-4-a=0

5-4-a=0

1-a=0

-a=-1

a=+1
