So, here, x = - 1
= > ( - 1 - 1 )( 2(-1)^2 + 4(-1) + p ) = 0
= > -2( 2 - 4 + p ) = 0
= > - 2( - 2 + p ) = 0
= > - 2 + p = 0
= > p = 2
Hence the required value of p is 2.
