Hi,
Here's ur answer :-
When men = x+1, days=x+1
When men =1, days = (x+1)^2 =x^2 + 2x + 1
When men = x+2, work done = (x^2 +2x + 1)/ (x+2)
It can also be written as:-
(x+1)^2/(x-2)
The answer may be thought as wrong but if seen carefully, it is a case of inverse proportion. So, we can know that as the number of men decrease, the few men have to do more work. But it is considered that they do it with constant efficiency. Hence, they take more days than usual.
