Question

if x+1/x=9, then find the value of x^2+1/x^2

Answer

(x +  \frac{1}{x})^{2}  = x^{2} +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } + 2 \times x \times  \frac{1}{x}

⟹The x are been cancelled.

⟹Then put the 9 at the value of  x + \frac{1}{x}

 =  > (9)^{2} =  {x}^{2} + \frac{1}{x ^{2} } + 2 \\  =  >   {x}^{2} + \frac{1}{x ^{2} } + 2  = (9)^{2}

 =  >  {x}^{2} +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } = (9 \times 9) - 2 \\  =  >   {x}^{2} +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } = 81 - 2 \\  =  >   {x}^{2} +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } = 79
