If the numbers are in AP
2(2x) = x + 2 + 2x + 4
4x = 3x + 6
x = 6
2(2x) = x + 2 + 2x + 4
4x = 3x + 6
x = 6

d = 2x - (x + 2)
= 2x - x - 2
= x - 2
d = 2x + 4 - 2x
= 4
x - 2 = 4
x = 4 + 2 = 6
6 is the answer.
And the AP is 8, 12, 16,...
Hope this may be helpful.
