x = 2+√3
or, 1/x = 1/ 2+√3
or, 1/x = 2-√3 / (2+√3)(2-√3)
or, 1/x = 2-√3 / (2)²-(√3)²
or, 1/x = 2-√3 / 4-3
or,1/x = 2-√3
now....
x - 1/x
= 2+√3 - (2-√3)
= 2+√3 - 2+√3
=2√3
